FlatFlow ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of apartment communities and residents who use our platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use FlatFlow — available at flatflow.in, app.flatflow.in, and our Android app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you register and use FlatFlow:

Account information: Name, phone number, flat number, and apartment/society name.
Financial records: Payment amounts, transaction IDs, dues, and expense entries that you enter into the app. We do not process or store credit/debit card details.
Water meter readings: Previous and current readings you enter for bill generation.
Service requests: Maintenance complaints and their status updates submitted through the app.
Usage data: Basic app interaction data (page views, feature usage) used to improve the product.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide the FlatFlow service — payment tracking, water billing, fund management, and maintenance requests.
To generate reports (PDF) that you choose to share within your apartment community.
To display payment and expense information transparently to all authorised members of your apartment.
To send in-app and push notifications about payment requests, announcements, and service updates.
To improve and debug the FlatFlow platform.

3. Who Can See Your Data

FlatFlow is designed for apartment-level transparency. Within your apartment community:

President & Treasurer: Can see all payment records, expenses, fund balances, and service requests for all flats.
Maintainer: Can see service requests and water bill records.
Flat Owners: Can see their own payment history, all shared expenses, corpus fund balance, and their own service requests.

Your data is not shared with any third parties, advertisers, or other apartments. Each apartment's data is completely isolated.

4. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore) — a cloud database hosted on Google's infrastructure in secure data centres. We use Firebase Authentication for secure login. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

5. Payment Information

FlatFlow records payment transaction IDs that residents enter manually after making a UPI or bank transfer. We do not collect, store, or process actual bank account details, UPI PINs, or card numbers. All financial transactions happen directly between residents and the apartment committee through their own payment apps (GPay, PhonePe, etc.).

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your FlatFlow account is active. If you cancel your subscription or request deletion, your apartment data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

Request access to the data we hold about you.
Request correction of incorrect information.
Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
Export your apartment's financial records as a PDF report at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

FlatFlow is intended for use by adults (18+) who are apartment owners, committee members, or authorised residents. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of FlatFlow after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
